Karen Beaver and a team from Beaver Ford competed in the Gautlet Games to raise funds for SURE.
The gauntlet games consisted of two laps around a 5k course, with 15 obstacles on each lap, including gladiators who were challenging us and trying to obstruct our way! The most memorable obstacle was the wobbly bridge which was inflatable steps over a rather large, smelly pond! We all succeeded in crossing but some of us swallowed a bit too much water! and a foam slide (see photos).
The runners for team Keep Calm and Beaver On were Karen Beaver, Kristy Johnson, Holly Branfield, Becky Cook, Ruby Coles, Milly Stowey and Dave Sinden.
This particular games was held in Cardiff but they are done all over the country over different dates. After our efforts we were all awarded a medal and a T-shirt. All in all it took us 3 hours to complete but we did have a long wait for one of the obstacles for over 45minutes! Our fundraising was done by seeking sponsorship for the run and also by doing a raffle where we had lots of very generous prizes from local businesses.
The amazing efforts of the Beaver Ford team raised £1,331.86 for SURE, the photo shows Karen Beaver and the Team presenting a cheque to Sarah Miller of SURE.
