24 February 2020The Fountain Inn Bridgwater- Valentine for SURE

23 February 2020Donations Update

Donations this week are £380 from Mrs Becky Webber of the Fountain Inn Bridgwater which was raised by holding a Valentine Evening of fun with a "Mr & Mrs"  competition hosted by Mr Phil 'Elvis Presley' Venning, there was also £32.50 collected from a SURE pot, £41.67 from the collection pot from Londis in Bridgwater, £7.08 from the AmazonSmile programme  and from the Beacon Centre was £123.85, which included £106.95 in 5ps.
This week's total is £585.10

16 February 2020Portcullis Lodge Langport present cheque to SURE

On Thursday 13th February George Small, the Worshipful Master of the Freemasons Portcullis Lodge No 2038 based at Langport, Somerset, presented a cheque for SURE for £5,000 to Barrie Palmer, one of the SURE Committee members. 
This was raised at a Charity Ball and Draw held on 12 October 2019 at Somerset Cricket Ground".

25 January 2020Taunton Carnival cheque presentation for 2019 Marathon

The photo shows Roy Hole of SURE (far right) receiving a cheque for £1,000 at the Taunton & District Carnival Committee presentation night on Friday 24th January at the Colin Atkinson Pavilion, Somerset County Cricket Club.

This was from money raised at the 2019 Taunton marathon with SURE the chosen race charity.

The new Taunton Carnival Queen for 2020 and her princess are also in the picture together with the Mayor of Taunton,  Councillor Francesca Smith.

23 January 2020Mike Holman presents cheque to SURE

Today Mike Holman- Master of Admiral Blake Lodge in Bridgwater presented a cheque for £100 to Gail Wills to help SURE keep up the very worthy work they do on behalf of the radiotherapy department at The Beacon Centre Musgrove Park Hospital.

23 January 2020Northern Soul evening for SURE

On Saturday 23rd of November 2019 Bruce Cowd and his wife Dawn, held a Northern Soul Evening at the Blake Hall Bridgwater.
 

The event was a great success and £1630.60 was raised for S.U.R.E.. Santander pledged to match fund resulting in a total of £3130.60.

Our thanks goes out to Bruce and the Bridgwater Charity Soul Nights.


The photo shows Gail Wills from S.U.R.E. on the left being presented, on Thursday 16th January at Santander Bridgwater, with a cheque from Dawn Cowd with the DJ Keith behind them both. Also in the picture either side of Gail and Dawn are members of the bank staff.

18 December 2019John Walker Band Christmas collection for S.U.R.E.

Many thanks to the members of the John Walker Band for their continued support of S.U.R.E.

After their concert last weekend John Walker said "With the kind support of St John's Church in Wellington, we requested that the audience donate to the S.U.R.E collection bucket at our concert "Spirit of Christmas" (The concert was a fund raiser for St John's). We were so gratified that we raised an amount  £114.13"

12 December 2019Family support & fundraising benefits SURE

In addition to the donation of £452.64 from the initiative instigated by Carolyn Stait and the ladies from Burnham and Berrow golf club, Yvonne Evans, Hazel’s sister also organised a charity collection from family and friends in support of Hazel & John Bevan who were both diagnosed with cancer on April 1st.
