2021 promises to be an exciting year for the Radiotherapy Service at the Beacon Centre at Musgrove Park Hospital. With the replacement of the three radiotherapy treatment machines (Linacs) now in the final stages of completion, SURE has been working with the Radiotherapy Department team to create a new Vision and Roadmap for the Radiotherapy service, identifying how we can best work together over the next few years to the benefit of patients across Somerset.
The Radiotherapy service is in an exciting phase of development of new technologies and treatment delivery. The Roadmap has now been agreed and the first 6 projects to be funded by SURE in 2021 given outline funding approval by the SURE Committee and Trustees so that work can begin, with some projects due for delivery as early as February/March next year.
The total SURE funding required to deliver these key roadmap projects in 2021 is estimated to be around £650,000.
